Deon Burton is in his third spell at Fratton Park including his loan spell at start of the season. Deon started at Fratton as a trainee in 1994. In his first spell he made 42 league appearances and scored 10 goals. Deon then moved to Welsh giants Cardiff City onloan and made 5 appearances and scored 2 goals. He moved to Derby for £1,000,000 and made 78 league appearances scoring 25 goal in a 5 year spell at Pride Park. He moved to Stoke City onloan and helped them to their promotion to the English First Division in 2001 - 2002 season. At the start of the 2002 - 2003 season Deon Burton moved to Fratton Park for his second debut for Pompey against Nottingham Forest and scored on his second Pompey debut. After Deon broke his ankle, he moved to Fratton Park on a periminament deal for £250,000. He has since ever kept down a regular first team spot.
